Communication colleague Kare Anderson gets us off to a good start this Monday morning by alerting us to a nice visual representation of an old ad-industry yarn about the difference good copy can make.
(In the version my dad always used to tell, the ad-man changed the sign to, "I am blind and it is spring.")
Yossi Mandel says
Wow, have you made my day. The beauty of portraying everything Hispanic with almost no words – play and poverty side by side, the caring heart beating beneath the suit, urban centers planned around plazas – yet the few words, when they come, tell the entire story. The poetry of being a “Letterer” – not a writer, not a communicator, not an ad-man, not an author, but what we might call a scribe. Evoking the image of letter by painstaking letter etched, erased, judged anew, etched again. Can we switch our titles to Letterers?
Kare anderson says
I like your Dad’s sign change – way cool to have familiar roots like that
