As Chicago Mayor-Elect Rahm Emanual stood nodding in the background, interim police superintendent Terry Hillard addressed the question of how Chicago will respond to the raised threat-level in the wake of the assassination of Osama bin Laden:
"Some of the units have been—the heightened alert has been heightened a little more when it comes down to that. (We've) taken the mood—a couple specialized units and there are some critical assets and we'll just wait and see."
Interim superintendent, indeed.
