Once again, I was “selected to answer” what the LinkedIn AI bot considers a salient professional question:
All the other reindeer offered serious answers. Shit like, “reflecting yourself personally and professionally in frequent cadence is key. My means to advance further in this regard is to write down how I want to be perceived and check back against a current status with feedback that I request on a regular basis from different stakeholders.”
I, on the other hand, took advantage of a rare and happy opportunity to give a straight answer to a dumb question not actually asked by a human being whose feelings could be hurt:
My shameful confession: I have answered these questions earnestly in the past. At this point, I’m not sure if I prefer a feed full of human humble brags or A.I. prompted responses.
Your candor is courageous and appreciated, Lucy. But no need to choose: Pretty soon we’ll be having AI-prompted humble brags. Goddamn, we probably already do.
