As regular Writing Boots readers know, I have a politician pal who is a bit of a savant when it comes to finding strange names in the course of his wide reading and regular travels.
As a publisher, I run across a lot of odd monikers myself.
He and I combine to create occasional compilations, for your amusement.
Lately I've noticed my desk drawer was filling up with some names I'd collected, and I started feeling good about my next contribution.
After all, I had Bethany Funfstuck, didn't I?
And Ken Copperwheat.
And Samantha Slappey.
And Katherine Outlaw.
And Mindy Mettorse.
And Miracle Washington.
But then my pol pal's post cards came in.
I lie awake at night fantasizing about introducing these people to one another. "Bunchy Stallings, I'd like you to meet Rackstraw Downes. Did you two know you two share an attorney? Yes, Jeanette Clinkenbroomer—of Ponder, Waffle & Whimper!"
