Friday Happy Hour Video (a double feature!)

Cat Stevens is being eight years old and riding in the front seat of my mom's yellow 1977 CJ-7 Jeep and watching her pound out the beat on the stick shift.

And I used to say that liking Harold & Maude was my litmus test for being a good person. Until I realized that such a statement was antithetical to Maude's spirit. So now I even try to like people who don't like Harold & Maude. They are, after all, my species.

Can’t even watch it. Know it will make me double over and water hose tears. And I have shit to do today, damn it.

I still think that’s a good litmus test. If someone doesn’t love that movie, then sooner or later, major flaws will be revealed, and you’ll have to end the relationship after investing years into it.
Better to just nip it in the bud right from the start.
