Writing Boot-istas will recall that last month, I grouched and snarled about our family's struggles to deal with an imbecilic Black History Month assignment for kindergartener Scout.
But an assignment's an assignment, and at some point, you got to stop bitching and start communicating. Right?
After some delicate prep work, we traveled to the Jesse Owens' grave in Chicago and then interviewed Scout at a soul food joint.
Her teacher cried—and we survived.
Great video.. I quite enjoyed the last part..
This is great. I love how she said Hitler made a decision that was…um…weird. And on a more important note: She got her ears pierced????? Please don’t tell Lily.
Yes, I liked that “weird” remark too.
(And: These earrings are fake!)
Oh thank the Lord. My Lily is under the delusion that all girls need to wait until they are 14 to get their ears pierced. We too use stick ons when the occasion calls for it.
Now who’s weird, you ask?
Hey Dave,
Sorry to intrude on your world, but I accidently stumbled on to your blog. I am a push-over for babies, and your baby is so super-amazing..! I had to comment. WOW!
Your daughter is perfect.
Your other life is so well spoken, too… so good job, you! Not that I have any authority to speak, but I think you are doing just great with your own VOICE. Your parents are for sure smiling about you. See Ya! Laura
Hey, Laura! Great to hear from you and happy you like the blog. As you know, I’ve done a fair amount of exploring of your world (Laura’s the sister of my pal Tommy, everyone). Let the mutual madness continue …..

Lo sentimos para inmiscuirse en su mundo, pero accidentalmente tropezó en su blog. Yo soy un empuje más para los bebés, y su bebé es tan súper increíble..
