Some timely financial advice, from Scout

The other night I heard Suze Orman on CNN, predicting that we might see “bread lines” before this economic downturn is through.
My daughter Scout takes a broader view.

    Sweet.
I remember singing that very song as a little girl. Brought back some nice memories.
I look forward to singing this little ditty with Scout next time I see her. (Hopefully not in an attempt to pass the time whilst standing in a bread line.)

This is precious! I have never heard this song before, but I LOVED Scout’s rendition of it – maybe she’ll be the next Madonna and keep you out of the bread lines!
Regardless, at least you’ll have some great entertainment while you wait!

I’m fine with the bread lines. Because I’ve decided, if I wind up in the bread lines, I’m going to take up smoking again. Actually, I find myself kind of looking forward to it.

    Also:
Like FEMA could manage a breadline!

David, that was just what I needed to start my morning. It reminded me of Mandy when she was little, and those are memories I need to bring back now that she’s 20 and going through her first heartbreak. My little girl who sang for the camera is still there. This weekend I’ll pull out some of those old videos and play them with her, and soothe her little heart.
You are indeed a good friend. Thank you.

Thanks for making me cry on a Friday morning at work. Cherish every moment, David. Those cherry days never come back.

The entire northwest corner of North America cheers for Scout!
Pals Joan, Ron, Kate–don’t worry: I’m cherishing all right.

We have to get out to Chicago some time soon to see the wonderful Scout in person. I’m targeting the 4th of July next summer, if not sooner.

You gotta love my niece. Her heart is wide open and so full of the generosity of all the love around her. She’s a perfect reflection of how when love accumulates in a person, it spills over to those who need it most – those of us who are clenched against the next penny shared or smile unreturned.
As if any of it belonged to us to begin with.
