Thai food for thought, for a Monday

08.31.2020 by David Murray // 1 Comment

The latest in an occasional series of accidental poetry caused by the dubious auto-translation of my step-mother-in-law Jutatip Bosch’s Facebook posts, from Korat, Thailand:

I have been working all day. I have prepared food for you. Pork marinated American style steak!!! Husband’s words can make me feel tired!!! He said. “Do you know that many people are jealous of me with a wife like you are diligent, Smart, beautiful with 5555!! I will keep you alone Forever. I have a little dog crying. My father told me. Thank you.

(Steak not pictured.)

Something lost in translation here, but still more coherent and thoughtful than anything I’ve heard come out of the White House in the last 43 months.
