Writing Boots

On communication, professional and otherwise.

Found art (and speaking of attending conferences)

Are you a student or a faculty or staff member who is on the Mount Holyoke campus this summer? Then you know that the campus doesn'€™t shut down after Commencement is over.

An early sign to look for this week? People in black and gold wizard robes wearing hats and carrying wands. They're part of New World Magischola, a live immersive theatrical event for adults. People from over 30 states are gathering to play out their fantasy of attending wizard school and using magic to solve problems. You might see them investigating unusual magical energies or communicating with a sentient tree spirit.

The important thing to understand is that these campus guests are always in role. Please treat them as though they were part of a theater performance and do not disturb or interrupt them. Their visit is the first of what we hope are many summers at Mount Holyoke and we want to make them feel welcome.
