Jimmy Piersall died this week. The former ballplayer who struggled with insanity teamed with Harry Carey, who struggled with inanity, to form a colorful broadcast booth for the Chicago White Sox, in the late 1970s. At a time when time still needed to be passed and baseball was the way Americans passed it, this is the sound it made.
Tip of the ballcap to former fantasy baseball commissioner Joe Engleman, for passing this along.
