The Quotable Middle Manager

I now have a full resource to use on this ticket and will have it closed out by the end of the day. I do apologize for the delay in resolving this, but as you know we are pretty strapped for resources for the time being. I am working with one of our resources right now to catch him up on the status of the ticket ….

Dear Scout—

Some advance career advice: If you ever catch wind of anyone, anywhere, referring to you as a "resource," it means your professional life is on the wrong course. Quit the job immediately and, if you have to, move back in with your parents.

Sincerely,

Your Father (Your Source)

It could be worse. You could be “human capital.”

I need to borrow this for my kids. Hope you don’t mind if I quote you.
