Friday Happy Hour Video: We want to sing out, but we’d better wait

04.04.2014 by David Murray // Leave a Comment

One of my favorite movies is Harold & Maude, and I want to share it with Scout at just the right moment in her intellectual and emotional development. Just the right moment.

There is a Harold & Maude & Scout meter ticking in my head, 24/7. One day, maybe sometime in her 14th year but you never know, the H&M&S meter is going to go off. Probably at an inconvient time—in the middle of the night, or one morning when she's at school. In which case I will pull her out of bed or out of class and we will watch it, two times through.

She knows of this plan, by the way. I've given her this wee taste, and she already thinks Ruth Gordon is the bee's knees (or in Gordon's case, the bee's knee pants). And could Bud Cort be any more adorable?  Oh my gosh I don't think I can wait …
