This is for the four people in my regular readership who haven't sent it to me (and thus probably haven't seen it). It is, as my own dad would have said, what I would have said if I couldda laid tongue to it.

And I’m with you, David–make your own choice about one of these idiotic phones, but make Scout’s choice for her. I’m such a dork, I wish that the tablets would work as a phone, as I’d gladly hold that huge thing up to my ear if I could actually hear it and not hold it so I cover up the microphone, and be able to type without using my thumbs. Thumbs, for goodness sake. Nobody’s supposed to hit anything but a space bar with a thumb.
You give me a good idea, Joan. What if we made phones BIG. I mean, REALLY BIG! Like, the size of ironing boards. They’d work really well—you could type by tap dancing on the supine machine—but you’d have to carry the fucker around everywhere. So you’d only take it places you really needed it. And otherwise, you’d be a natural woman, or a natural-born man. What do you think? Is it too late for this idea? Or just in time?
