Writing Boots

On communication, professional and otherwise.

It’s a one-pager, peeps; not your last will and testament

As I stagger out of another soul-damaging excercise in group writing, I believe the biggest problem with the genre is the feeling that since so many important people are involved in crafting a piece of communication, the communication must be a terribly important document, if not the last and only the institution will ever issue.

So of course every conceivable point must be included!

This feeling intensifies as the editing process goes on, and points continue to be conceived and included.

And so the font keeps getting smaller on the one-pager, until the page turns into a perfect block of black.

You don't write your memoirs on a business card, folks. Just your contact info, in case anyone happens to be interested.
