Writing Boots

On communication, professional and otherwise.

All communication is “change communication”

They say you shouldn't marry someone, hoping they'll change.

So you learn to to live with each other.

And then one does change—for instance he learns how to cook, or she learns something about the history of interior decoration.

And the other one sneers.

A I did when I heard my wife refer, for the first time and the second in 6,712 married mornings, to "mid-century" furniture style.

Who does she think she is? What is she trying to pull?

I change and I think I'm growing. You change and I think you're putting on airs, or up to something weird.

Communication is for bringing people along—lovers, friends, employees—on your journey, no matter how strange it gets.
