From a 40-ish "very seasoned marketing communications manager":
Sending out resumes (feels like the equivalent of a root canal). I miss dropping off my resume on nifty brown deckled-edge craft paper & enclosing a pack of color writing clips. I became a writer because I love paper. Online forms that want everyone's career to fit in their boxes seem so… well… in the box.
Now that you're a Big Girl, getting writing jobs on the strength of fun paper doesn't cut it anymore, and what's remarkable is that it ever did.
