omg, David, I started at the beginning and am working my way back, and came upon this. It’s precisely how I feel so often these days. With the new job responsibilities masked in mystery; the home reconstruction; the rain-soaked (literally) home-office strewn with plastic and garbage bags to protect it, and the drying-out of what I missed; the tired body; the crankiness, I wake thinking just that: CANNOT. And yet I rise, dress, hope there’s power to make a coffee, read the paper, and keep on.
Ah, but some days, my digital display reads just that. CANNOT.
