On another blog, a Boots regular observed that I've seemed a little cranky lately.
First, isn't that like a little like saying Oprah Winfrey has been a little self-satisfied lately, Dick Cheney has seemed a little pessimistic lately, George Clooney has seemed a little sexy lately?
Second, did it ever occur to her that cranky times call for cranky people?
But the truth is I'm not cranky every day.
I'm not cranky today, for instance.
I love the Scouties. (Scout movies)
(Though I’m inclined to call a child protection hotline.)
Hey, I don’t care how old you are. When you scale Frost Hill, you’re going to get bit.
Suzanne – this is nothing! I liked the Scoutie about walking home from school. The poor kid falls down and scrapes up her knee. She’s crying pitifully for “Daddy”, and what is “Daddy” doing? Is he flinging the camera to the pavement to scoop up his injured child in a soothing embrace, drying her tears, and rubbing her injured knee to make it better??
Oh no! Francis Ford Coppola there continues to film our dear Scout, lying on the pavement crying, presumably figuring the drah-ma and the pathos of the thing has “Best Director” in the bag for him at next year’s Oscar ceremony.
On the up side, Scout WILL have some great stories to tell in her expensive therapy sessions to come!
She’ll have more than stories. She’ll have proof.
And now, I’m not cranky today either.
I love you cranky or not, David. Kids are the best uncranker around (most of the time).
What a way to observe the 40th anniversary of the murder of Fred Hampton. Who does the filming when David and Scout are both in the scene?
That’s the magic of motion pictures, Paul.
More talk about George on this blog would definitely make me less cranky. (just sayin’!)
Well, has anyone seen the new Clooney film, about the corporate downsizing agent? I’m hoping to see it soon but would love to read a review of it from a communicator type. And we’d make Amy Jo happy in the process, creating a clear win-win.
I’m in the middle of reading the book right now. I heard an interview on NPR last week between Terry Gross and the author and was intrigued. So far, it’s a great read. I want to wait and finish the book before seeing the movie, but planning on it.
