The Quotable Murr

On vacation last week, I was sipping Presidente beers and gulping down Leslie Jamison's fine book The Recovering.

I do love a good book on alcoholism! Reading this one, which is about writers and alcoholism (OMG), I realized why I drink every single day of my life, even when I am sick:

It's to prevent ever being in a situation where I crave booze in the desperate way that an alcoholic does.

Because then I would have to stop drinking.

Which would be just terrible.
