I wanna post this while it's fresh.

Here's an open letter to my opponent tonight in my tennis league, who didn't show up for our 10:00 p.m. match, and who didn't call to tell me he wasn't showing up.

Here's what you owe me:

You owe me several springtime cocktails that I would have had (with my wife, who was having them) between happy hour and 10:00, had I known you were not coming.

You owe me the PSI that's still inside me from a wild week at work, that, had I known you would be sleeping tonight, I would have worked off in my running shoes (and at happy hour) many hours ago.

And you owe me the tennis match I was looking forward to all week.

You owe me an awful lot. I bet you owe a lot of people a lot, all the time. Because that's probably just the kind of guy you are. A real owe-a-lot prick.

You'd better hope we don't meet in the playoffs, pal. Cuz you're going to be up against one serious tennis player.

(Blogs. For stress relief.)
