For the uninitiated: Mike Royko was the most famous columnist in Chicago, working for three of its papers from the 1960s until his death in 1997. He was a great storyteller, a devoted player of Chicago's 16-inch softball, a great drunk. Here he hits for that cycle, at the Billy Goat Tavern.
