Writing Boots

On communication, professional and otherwise.

A very young provocateur

04.21.2014 by David Murray // Leave a Comment

Scout has an email account, and she corresponds with her teachers, and fellow fourth-graders. Sometimes she's asking for help on homework.

Mostly, she's starting trouble.

She emails all her friends and asks them to weigh in: "What do you like better: olives or pickles?"

Once that's resolved—or cut short by a friend getting the last word—("I rock, in my opinion")—Scout moves the debate to pie vs. cake.

She's into pasting Internet clip-art into emails—"emails just look better with pictures," she says—and her latest manufactured donnybrook is, "What do you like better: hearts or peace signs?"

I think she's preparing herself to take over the family blog.
