Forgive old Dad for dwelling, this Monday, on this image of joy after my daughter Scout Murray scored the winning goal in yesterday’s Ohio University victory against my own alma mater, Kent State. OU—whose players at one point believed (and grieved) that they’d been mathematically eliminated from contention—took the Mid-American Conference title, and go on to play in the NCAA tournament for the first time in the history of the program.
“I feel,” said one parent after the game, “like I just watched ‘Mighty Ducks.'”
And the credits aren’t rolling yet.

And MVP, too! Awesome!
