These days we’re always hearing people gush about how they’re “passionate” about their work in corporate branding, and whatnot.
Before you bloviate about your lifelong passion for the work you do, benchmark your career romance against the legendary Chicago weatherman Tom Skilling, who started delivering newscasts to his parents when he was seven or eight years old.
My dear friend, the great podcaster Phoebe Judge, interviews the ebullient Skilling this week on her podcast, This Is Love. This is what passion for one’s work sounds like. (As a matter of fact, on both ends of the interview.)
Bonus: In the story, we hear Skilling breaking into tears on-air upon seeing a solar eclipse. Here’s the video of that delightful moment.
