Friday Happy Hour Video: Talking Hard Work

Woody Guthrie sang, “I been down and I been out. And I’ve been busted, disgusted and couldn’t be trusted. I worked my way up and I worked my way down. I’ve been drunk and I’ve been sober. I’ve had hard times and I got hijacked. And been robbed for cash and been robbed on credit. Worked my way into jail and worked my way outta jail. And I woke up a lot of mornings and I didn’t even know where I was at.”

Well, the late Orioles pitcher Sammy Stewart was found dead last week at 63, after a long bout with drug abuse. “I’ve slept under bridges, on park benches out in the woods,” he told The Baltimore Sun in 2006 according to his New York Times obit. “I’ve been homeless, friendless, shot at. I’ve been hit with hammers. I’ve been stabbed in the back over $55. I’ve run over people with a car.”

RIP, fellas.
