Yesterday, I:
Took Scout on a 12-mile run (she on her bike, me in training for a half-marathon) from Chicago's Ukrainian Village neighborhood, through Old Town, to the Lincoln Park Zoo and then around Wrigley Field and home.
Then I made the family a nice big breakfast.
Next, it was off to the Chicago Lyric Opera, to see a performance of the musical Carousel.
Back home, I cooked what is for me an adventurous dinner—a ginger-sauce steak stir-fry, in the wok!
And somehow in there, I managed to have several drinks, read the Times and take not one but two honest naps.
Somewhere in the middle of that, it occurred to me that we shouldn't complain about people "airbrushing their lives" for Facebook friends' consumption.
Instead, we should start living lives worthy of amazeballs Facebook feeds—by spending less time gaping at Facebook.
