“Old” is “old school”

At the UPS store I'm trying to get them to photocopy some 30-year-old letters.

They're nice at the UPS store. Accommodating. And young.

The young fellow is worried that the letters won't go through the autofeeder—his young colleague has already given me a baffled look for suggesting we just use "the glass" for the copies—because the paper the letters are typed on is "old school." No, young man. They are just "old."

I don't say it.

Yes, young man. The letters are old school, and so am I. Thanks for noticing.

I wind up using the glass, to the young lady's utter wonderment.

And then I unhitch my horse and ride off down the dusty trail …
