Writing Boots

On communication, professional and otherwise.

It was sort of the best of times, and sort of the worst of times

Clearly, I need a break. And I'm getting one (sort of)—attending the Content Marketing World 2011 conference this week in Cleveland, and next week, speaking at the U.K. Speechwriters' Guild show in Bournemouth, England.

So I won't be blogging with my usual senseless regularity. Maybe I'll return with a sense of, sort of, perspective.

Seriously – what IS your deal with Canada about, anyway?!
We are nice people. We really are!
By the way Keira Knightly who, I’ll grant you isn’t going to win any Nobel prizes for chemistry or literature, is BRITISH!
So if you going bash-people for being “something-loving” how ’bout you pick on the BRITISH for a change and give us Canadians a bloody break, okay????
Thank you, and have a nice day.
    P.S. Enjoy your trips.

(My deal with Canada is that I happen to have a lot of Canadian readers who are easily provoked. And two American readers who recently moved to Canada, who are also easily provoked.)

You’re sort of right, David (and I bet you sort of saw that coming).

Actually, I believe I show – on the whole – ADMIRABLE levels of sang froid when it comes to tolerating your glee in provoking people.
But I am certainly happy to know that I’m not alone in being part of your loyal Canadian reader contingent . . . or someone who enjoys rising to your bait in search of a good old fashioned knock down drag out debate.

I love when Kristen says things like “sang froid.”

And it’s your good taste in humor, and your own damn humor, that makes me miss you back. Thank God there is Facebook, which isn’t the same, but isn’t nothing, either.
