I got a ticket for running a red light in Racine, Wis. a couple months ago. I was on my motorcycle trip and I was trying to keep up with my pal, who pushed the yellow. Stupid.
I just got a letter sayin' to pay the $88 by Sept. 9.
"If you don't pay the forfeiture, the Judge will then enter the order he said he would regarding suspending your driving privileges for up to two years or committing you to the county jail."
I've got the money. It's just that the "county jail" business—especially if my jailers say stuff like "the Judge will enter the order he said he would"—sounds so much more exciting than writing a check. (Imagine the blog posts from there!)
Readers, what should I do?

A-TIC-CA! A-TIC-CA!!!
I’m kidding! Just pay the stupid fine and move on. No offense, but I don’t think you’re cut out for jail – county or otherwise!

I think a blog about serving time in the county slammer would be fascinating. Take the go to jail card, Davey! Sneak in a phone or camera so you can post video.
