I don't like that my friends and enemies alike can now easily check to see how much traffic I have to my blog.
What are they going to have access to next, my actual self-esteem levels? Ooh, for some reason you're way down since January …
It's like your bank account: You don't want people knowing how empty it is, or how full.
Is there any way in Holtz to protect this information?
I didn’t know readers had access to this kind of information.
I keep getting tagged on Facebook saying “Guess who’s looking at your profile page” and I want to write them personally and say “Truly, I haven’t checked your page since the day you sent me a friend request a year ago.” I have no idea where they get these stats. It’s a puzzle.
Remember that you are popular with those who count. The rest of that crap BE DAMNED.
David, I am surprised anyone can see your stats, unless you have left a setting public somewhere. I had a Typepad blog for years, with a hidden stat function, and it was never public.
I’ll try to help you out if you can let me know more specifically what you’re hearing.
Enjoy RonCon, by the way!
Allan, when I return from RonCon, I’ll take you up on that, and send you what I’ve gotten from this person, who seems to be able to view the traffic to every site. He’s a colleague, and so I don’t object, but I’ve also seen evidence that at least one competitor also knows my traffic.
Thanks for offering to help me (us) explore this.
